Information Page
Oregon Clinical Massage is your resource for results-oriented massage and manual therapy. Our services are backed by many years of training and experience. Our clinic is clean, comfortable and professional, and your therapy is personalized by what you bring to each visit. Our Services page has much more detailed information. We provide massage and other hands-on therapies to decrease pain and increase range of motion after automobile accidents or other injuries, or during recovery from soft tissue pain and range of motion limitations. A prescription is not usually necessary. We handle auto accident insurance cases, as well as some workers' compensation cases, and are currently accepting new patients. We want to make it easy for you to focus on getting better as quickly as possible. If you have been in an auto accident, call for your free consultation. We would love to talk with you about how insurance will pay for massage and manual therapy as part of your recovery. We are able to accept visa, mastercard, discover, debit, cash, and personal checks as payment. Our therapists have thousands of hours of combined training and years of clinical experience using massage and manual therapies. We help people just like you, every day, to move better with less pain. We provide internships, instruction, and supervision for orthopedic/medical massage therapists in the Portland area who are preparing for the Medical Massage National Certification Board. If you are interested in information on this service, please email us. New business name: My dear friend and Alliance Clinic business partner, Deigna Whitney, and I have decided that we want to go back to school. Changes are coming in the way we are able to treat and bill, and we want to make sure we can continue to provide the rehabilitative services you have come to rely on, and expand the possibilities of insurance coverage for all of you. This is going to take us years to complete, since we intend to keep our practices active during this time, but we truly feel that this is the best way to serve everyone involved in the long run. While we are in school, we decided to separate our practices and pursue the financial obligations and changing schedule demands of continued education separately. Charla has chosen to stay here with us, and is in private practice also. The legal structure, phone numbers, and some room assignments are the only things that have changed. We are all still in the same facility, and we will still be referring to each-other and the other providers we trust based on your needs and our strengths. Because Deigna was using Alliance as part of her business name before our merger, she is keeping the name Alliance Clinic. You can still reach her at the Alliance number: 503/288-5857. Charla's practice is called BodyWise Therapeutic Massage, and she can be reached at 503/380-4953. She is still in the same space. Intern News: Oregon Clinical Massage is a teaching facility as well as a bodywork resource, with the intention of promoting higher levels of education in those who are treating injured people. Our current intern is E. Jon Wood, LMT. Jon's practice has been focused on Thai Massage for a few years, which he offers here in the evenings. He has studied everything he needs in order to take the National Certification Board exam for Medical Massage, and now he is looking for some hands-on experience. I've known Jon for a few years. He's delightful, and very eager to put his training into practice. You can contact him at 503/736-9233. Jon's schedule is now posted so you can call him and request one of his open appointments. Continuing Education: I am close to completing my certification program in Advanced Myofascial Release from AdvancedTrainings.com. I only have a few classes left. After they are completed, I hope to be assisting in the workshops. In the meantime, I am incorporating this work into my practice as much as I can. I attended the hip/pelvis class recently, and what I learned there has had immediate positive results with auto accident patients. Yoga: I am currently teaching anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology in The Lotus Seed's yoga teacher training course. |
